In what esteem must God hold music

How He must love His symphonies and songs

Blessing those who quicken them

And all who revel in their beauty.

How we attend God when we sing or play.

As part of the reason for our life on Earth

Must be to praise creation and glorify the life

He bestows on us each day.

Music is the sacred gateway

Through which we walk to God.

How shall we know God

Save through his melodies and songs

Filling all the world with

Symphonies and psalms

Music, then, should be pure and magic,

An expression of the beauty of our souls,

A measure of the richness of our spirit,

A celebration of the noble and tragic.

It must, like faith in God, be perfectly tried,

And so, within its realm, we shall all be sanctified.
